A Life Considered
“If only they were wise and would understand this and consider what their end will be.” Deut. 32:29
Do we look down the road to see where it is leading?
Consider the path of your life; where will you end up?
“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.” 1Ch. 29:11
God owns everything in heaven and earth; literally including each one of us. All is for His purpose and glory! While God holds the title deed to our lives, He has given us the right and responsibility to use our lives wisely. However as Owner, God has the obligation and right to define our existence. In the Bible, God clearly defines our purpose for being (to live perfectly pleasing to Him) and how we are commanded to relate to Him, others and the world.
So we have all we need to live a wise life or do we? Try living by His commandments by your own strength and willpower, you will fail! We can’t even keep our own conscious clear. Our failures God calls sin and sin separates us from God. God’s Word says the penalty for sin is eternal death. However, you and I have sinned but God has not “zapped” us dead! Why not? Because of His love, mercy, and grace, He has given us time to choose true life.
“Come now, let us reason together,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land;but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.” For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” Isaiah 1:18-20
So how do we make wise use of our life? The only way is to reason together, as one with God; to have a personal and dependent relationship with Him. But how do you establish a relationship with God? The Bible tells us that God came to earth in the form of a man, Jesus Christ, that Jesus never sinned and lived the true life on earth, perfectly pleasing to God. While Jesus was not deserving of death, Jesus willingly died on the Cross, paying the penalty for our sins; because He loves us and want us to live eternally with Him. God being perfectly just, raised Jesus from the dead. Jesus Christ now sits on the right-hand of the throne of God. So now you know about God’s love and the salvation he has provided for you, you must use that knowledge and act to establish a relationship with God.
You must confess to God that Jesus died for your crimson sins on the Cross and that God, being just, raised Jesus from the dead; you must willing relinquish all rights to your life back to God. At the moment you acknowledge and willing accept Jesus Christ as Lord of your life to God through prayer (the act of faith), the Spirit of God enters your mortal body; permanently establishing a personal relationship with you. From that moment on you can walk with God and live pleasing to Him by the power of His own Spirit for eternity!
When God enters you, even as Lord, He still allows you freewill, so you will always have the choice to please Him or not. Please choose to keep walking with Him by faith. Daily, out of love for Him and thankfulness for what He does for you and through you; consider your ways and reason with Him asking Him to change your life to conform to His ways. Your life with God will only get richer if you know Him more perfectly. So read and study His very Words the Bible and immediately join a healthy church and learn from other Christians. Walk with the Spirit, keep giving Him permission to change your life. You know your love for God is true, because you will be keeping His commandments.
So consider your path today while you have time; God has a hopeful and abundant path for you that will be glorious to Him and light and healing to all others your life touches.
