Homeward Bound

It is 8:08 PM Sunday evening the night before I depart Tamale. I leave here for Accra at 6:30 am on the STC bus; very nice ride AC and TV! God willing, it should be about a 12 hour journey. Today was very different as my work here was not finished. I was asked to preach today, earlier this week by Rev. Asare. I thought I would have time to prepare a sermon on Thursday, review it Friday, and polish it on Saturday LOL! God had other ideas:)

At this same time the biggest convention at RMC was being held; about 1000 people attending! Every staff person was very, very busy. When one of the front desk clerks came down with Malaria, I had to pitch in and help–Thursday and Friday all day and into part of the evening. So much for preparing for my first sermon! It was tiring and taxing as there were many needs that were met and so graciously by the staff here. We really just don’t know what hard work is in the USA with our computers, technology, multiple shifts, etc. You have one staff and you get it done here!

Anyway, it left little time to reflect on this past summer or prepare to leave (I just finished). This morning church service was a blessing to me and hopefully to others. I was going to post my sermon on this Journal, but decided it was a bit too long. I spoke for 3o minutes on Faith (Hebrews 11:1) and that Jesus is Coming Soon. It seemed well received and they really understood my English (they told me my English was very clear today for some reason, TU God).

As I turn to the West, I see the smiling faces of my family and friends; all of whom I have missed. It will be wonderful to see you all and to talk about what I have missed in the Ole USA and my travels here. I will be limited on pictures and videos as they are trapped in my virus infected computer, but am hopeful that a good PC Dr. I know can heal it.

Thank You for taking the time to read these little (or too long) thoughts of mine and sharing in the mission with me. Thank you for praying for the mission and for me personally. Please continue to pray for God’s guidance and for those I have left behind in Ghana for a short time, God willing.

My prayer has been for you to know the love of God, to share His love with those around you, and for you to fulfill your purpose, thereby having the best life possible!

May God Bless Us All!
