Standing Before God

All of us are standing before God, right now. Whether we acknowledge this fact or not is immaterial; truth and reality are absolutes that are beyond the influence or control of humanity. Unless we have ruined our conscious through continuous wrong-doing or just indifference (pride), our conscious confirms there is a God and the difference between right (goodness) from wrong (evil). Since there is a God, why are we not all in agreement about Him and obedient to Him?

Because God has given us a limited amount of time to exercise freewill. How have we used our freewill? We each have lived life our own way, not God’s Way. If we are all honest, the world is not getting “better,” rather people and the world have been experiencing a slow decline. As individuals and nations, we continue to ‘harm’ others (slander, gossip, rape, fight, war, genocide, torture, deny rights, etc) and continue to pollute the world. The slow spiral down continues, apparently unabated, without real consequence that changes humanity toward perfection and restores the world anew.

In California, we are deciding if, “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.” You are being stupid, there is no other word, to think that marriage is right between same sexes. If there are no moral absolutes and everyone’s right is right, then you might contend for such an abomination of natural function and family life-style perversion. Do we care about the environment our children grow up in? We all realize freewill is not without responsibility and accountability.

Since the beginning, all societies established laws to punish those who choose to defy acceptable behavior. If we, as limited beings, all acknowledge and enforce consequences for wrong doing; how much more will God, a perfect and righteous judge, punish us for wrong doing? Because God does not force His presence and will upon us immediately, one may incorrectly conclude that God does not care about wrong doing or is disinterested in us. God hates wrong-doing and has emphatically told us that the punishment for any wrong-doing is eternal separation from Him in hell. Sound ludicrous?

We have always and continue to demand death for some wrong doing. We may think that death for any wrong-doing is extreme, however punishment is determined by the authority with the right and capability to enforce and to carry out the pronounced judgment. We think it is extreme because we are biased and only view right and wrong from our perspective not God’s perspective. God has made it clear: death for any wrong doing no matter how “minor.”

Rather than being unable to punish us for our wrong doing, God has chosen instead, for a season, to express His love toward us. God is currently acting with humility, patience, and long-suffering by not punishing us for the cruel and inhuman treatment of each other and indifference toward Him. While He could execute His justice at any time, He has granted us time to choose (freewill) to love Him too.

In delaying judgment, evil persists and expands because of our freewill! Don’t fall into the trap of blaming God for our evil. God is allowing evil to continue to give all of us time to see the reality of life.

The penalty of our wrong doing has been paid by the only life worthy of eternal life: Jesus Christ. His life pleased God in all respects.

Yes, we are standing before God and God is recording every thought and behavior to bring His exacting right judgment t
