Hopeful Path

Hope you are doing well: living life to the fullest with a mind toward the future. I can’t help but think about what the new year might bring: all the things that will be accomplished or be undone, and where relationships might take each of us. Without any doubt, there are many changes coming our way.

If you like, read Deuteronomy 31:1-8. Now that was a big time of change: loosing leadership that had been in place for 40 years, facing overwhelming obstacles (largest armies in the world), inexperienced in so many ways of life, lack of physical resources, etc. The panic, fear, inadequacy, and discouragement must have washed through their minds. But what was the reality (truth) of the situation?

God had been with them for the past 40 years, preparing them for the moments to come, and promised to stay with them!

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” NIV Deut. 31:8

There really is no basis for our fear or to become discouraged, because our foundation and keeper is God! We didn’t promise God that we will never forsake him, rather God Almighty personally promised each of us that this year, each day, each second, He himself is going before us, he will never ever leave us (not one second) nor will He become discouraged by us and forsake us!

This new year lets each decide to allow God to fashion us; for his good pleasure and to be a blessing to others! It will be much less painful for us in His way; no matter our decisions, God will be faithfully forming us for his good work and pleasure.
